It's Cod-tastic!

Plan your Saturday evening meal here at Pearl River United Methodist Church and enjoy a Fabulous Fish Dinner with family, friends and neighbors in our community.

"Some of the best food I have ever had and for sure the best fish and chips." - Bob A.

"My family and I look forward to this every year. My waiter did an outstanding job. Thank you PRUMC to another successful fish fry! I even got a plate to take home." - Helen D.

"This is what fish and chips should be. The best cod and chips in the entire area. I can't wait to be back next year."- John C.

This is one of the largest fundraisers to help support the Pearl River United Methodist Church.

The mission statement of the church is "Rooted in Grace. Growing in Faith. Reaching out with God's Love."

The PRUMC reaches into the community on a weeky basis by providing space for the Boy Scouts, multiple AA meetings, table tennis, dance and yoga classes. Most recently the Train Show provided entertainment for kids old and young.

In addition to the above our church works on several Outreach projects throughout the year.

  • Providing meals for Helping Hands ( a ministry that houses the homeless during the cold winter months).
  • Souper Bowl - On Super Bowl Sunday we collect soup for CUMAC (CUMAC is a non-profit organization dedicated to feeding people and changing lives located in Newark, NJ).
  • Collection of magazines throughout the year and given to Rockland Psychiatric Center.
  • In the spring time we walk for CROP. CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by local congregations or groups to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world.
  • We walk and raise money for Relay for Life to help bring awareness and prevention of cancer.
  • Each year our Youth spend a week on retreat during the summer working on various projects. This years mission trip will be to Reading, PA providing free home repairs to the elderly and low-income families.
  • Each summer we provide Vacation Bible School to the community and ask participants to donate Back to School supplies for People to People to ensure needy children have the basic supply at the start of school.
  • Food drives at ShopRite collect food for St. Stephen's Food Pantry (right here in Pearl River).
  • Participating in Operation Christmas Child, this organization collected over 4,500 shoe boxes from our county alone to support global needs of children.

As you can see all this is made possible because of special fundraisers like the Fish Fry.
